Legacy Introduces Unity to NeoCon East 2011
Legacy Furniture Group, Inc. will introduce Unity, a sophisticated, unique healthcare collection designed in collaboration with Beck and Beck Design to NeoCon East 2011, November 2-3. The Unity Collection features lobby/waiting room seating, casegoods and lounge pieces for use in healthcare spaces.
Built for Healthcare
The Unity collection is built to provide maximum comfort and style to the healthcare patient from beginning end. The seating in the collection is available in a closed or open “U” arm shape with the option of wood, upholstered, polyurethane or bacteria-killing CuVerroTM arm caps and features a bent ply “J” back upright that flexes slightly and has superior lumbar support for long hours of waiting. The bases of the unit are available in wood or metal. “Our core strength is the level of customization in our line,” commented Todd Norris, President of Legacy Furniture Group, Inc., “…and Unity allows the designer or end user to build exactly what they want…a wood or metal base, variety of arm caps and an open or closed style or arm.”
Unity also focuses on infectious disease control, a hot topic among hospital administrators. All seating features cleanout, antimicrobial finishes and the availability of antimicrobial fabrics. Even the lounge pieces have a focus on healthcare with a gravity cleanout for ease of maintenance.
Some of the signature pieces in the line include the Highback Patient Chair, the Sleeper Sofa and the Wardrobe. The Highback Patient Chair features an open arm and a “J” bar back that provides a fashion-forward look with a comforting back motion and lumbar support for those occasional waits in the doctor’s office. The Sleeper Sofa has two ends for storage and a pull-out sleep surface that can hold up to four men without tipping. The Wardrobe is available in laminate for easy cleaning and features a sliding door with two upper and two lower drawers.
“We are proud of our collaboration with Beck and Beck Design and feel Unity is the future of healthcare design,” noted Norris, “…we invite everyone at NeoCon East to our booth #2633 to see the entire Unity collection along with the other new collections from Legacy.”
Legacy Furniture Group introduces Infinity to NeoCon East 2011
Legacy Furniture Group, Inc. will introduce Infinity, a modern, cylindrical contract furniture group designed in collaboration with the Stafford/Carter Design Group to NeoCon East 2011 in Baltimore, MD November 2-3. The Infinity Collection features seating, tables and casegoods for use in public/lobby areas, conference rooms, team collaboration spaces and university environments.
Modern, Minimalist Design
The Infinity Collection represents a modern, geometric design built around the efficiency and aesthetics of a cylinder. The styling of the collection reflects the trend in the contract industry to a more modern aesthetic with clean lines and minimalist styling centered around the beauty and function of the sphere with cylindrical styling in chairs, loveseats, ottomans and case pieces.
The Infinity seating collection consists of chairs and loveseats that use either an upholstered base or a contemporary metal disc base available in four different finishes. The efficiency of the circle is a key dynamic in the design of the chair that offers incredible comfort with a small 30” diameter footprint. “Square footage is harder to come by in corporate and public environments,” notes Chris Carter, partner in John Stafford/Chris Carter Design, LLC., “ the cylinder style of Infinity offers a very compact, efficient design that allows for more seating and work area in smaller spaces. Traditional seating can take up 34” to 40” with arms, flares and backs, but Infinity accomplishes the same objective in a 30” diameter cylinder.”
Design and Function
“Today’s consumer demands function and style,” commented Todd Norris, President of Legacy Furniture Group, Inc., the manufacturer of the Infinity Collection. Norris collaborated on the design of Infinity with Stafford/Carter Design and took extra steps to ensure the group was not just attractive but also “Apple, Dyson and other consumer companies have changed the way buyers view design,” said Norris, ”product now has to be attractive and add value to the buying equation. Infinity accomplishes this through the cylindrical design and innovative products like the Collaboration Table and Kiosk Tech Table that improve the efficiency of organizations with items that look great and perform.”
The Collaboration Table is designed with a top that allows the nesting of four upholstered, rotating Infinity chairs to facilitate the work of teams in a corporate, university or healthcare setting. Group members can collaborate at the table and then rotate away from the table in one simple, efficient motion. The compact design allows for the maximization of rooms space through creative placement without additional room need for the space required with unattached seating. The Collaboration Table is ideal for a public union, university setting or corporate environment where team members come and go during team projects. “The Collaboration Table is designed for the teams that are so prevalent in corporations and universities today, “commented Norris,” this new method of organizing work requires a new furniture product to facilitate and maximize the work of the teams.”
The Kiosh Tech Table is a round, bar height table built for the information and recharging demands of our high tech world. Designed for the public areas of a university or corporation, the Tech Kiosk features four recharging stations for iPods and iPads and four recharging stations for MP3/MP4 players along with four electrical outlets as options. The Kiosk Tech Table is a great addition as an information hub in corporate or student union environments.
